New Fundraising Program Available

School is back in session for another year - which means another summer has gone by - which means fall and winter are ahead.  I will say no more about that topic!  The good part about the fall arriving is that for those of us who have school aged children,  the routine of getting the kids out to school everyday is back which means an empty house during the day, for the most part.
EnviroBottles has also launched its new fundraising program that is actually a two parter this year.  Fundraising with Wrap-N-Mats allows you to achieve up to 52% profit selling this practical and durable sandwich wrapper and placemat in one.  Wrap-N-Mat is the original sandwich wrapper, available since 1997.  We love this product and have been using the same ones for several years now.  Both adults and children utilize the pouch and the sandwich wrapper, along with a stainless steel bottle, to support the litterless lunch initiative which many schools have adopted.
Secondly, our fundraising with stainless steel water bottles, tumblers and reusable lumch bags allows the fundraiser to put whatever mark up on the products that they feel they can achieve.   Put your logo or brand on the bottle for only the set up charge.  We've got some great specials running on drinkware until the end of 2011 so take advantage of it.

Environmental Issues Worldwide

Hello,

My name is Maria and I have a major interest in the environment, and all the factors that affect it in a detrimental way.  A few of these include:  Pollution, Bottled Water, the burning of Fossil Fuels, and Combustion which is a very dangerous aspect that was introduced by man kind.  This helped speed along the proccess of global warming and continues to play a role in the warming of our atmosphere.  These are just a few components that influence our environment in a very negative way.  More of us need to take these issues a lot more seriously and with consideration for our earth.  Not only is the environment affected by it, but we are also and it will not get better until we take a stand and make a difference!

That was my blog for the day, I hoped it made you deeply think about these issues!

TAKE THE PLEDGE

EnviroBottles is taking very seriously the issue with plastic water bottles and using water as a commodity.  The information is vast regarding the seriousness of this problem - not only from the waste it generates, but by the fact that a valuable resource that should be available FREE to every human being is used to give HUGE profits to some big businesses.  North Americans don't realize that the purchase of water is step towards privatizing drinking water and therefore, working towards making water a commodity.  In third world countries where clean drinking water is very difficult to attain, people walk for many miles to get one or 2 jugs of this resource.  We can turn on a tap, thoughtlessly, and fill a glass, flush a toilet, have a shower, bathe our pets, wash our cars........and not think twice.
Our goal is to get as many people as possible to sign our pledge: "I pledge not to drink bottled water where municipal water is available.  According to the Polaris Institute, 30% of Canadians use bottled water as their main source of drinking water.  Isn't that a scary thought?!  Send us your name and municipality of residence and we will put your name on our growing list of concerned citizens who are willing to give up the use of bottled water, with the exception of emergencies.
Love to hear from YOU!

New Phone Number

EnviroBottles has decided it't time to step into the new way of doing business and has made the move to cellular service - including text messaging!  Our business causes us to be mobile a lot and our land line can't come with us.  Therefore, beginning July 1, we will be doing phone business exclusively with our cell phone.  We welcome texts as well and if you would prefer to talk on the phone but are long distance, please provide us with your phone number and we will be happy to call you back on our nickel!
We think this move will serve our customers better and will make us more available, even when we're out of the office.
OUR NEW NUMBER IS 613-281-2519.   Phone or text us anytime between 9 and 5 Monday to Friday.  Or email us info@envirobottles.ca anytime.

Expo 150 in Renfrew County A Huge Success!

Renfrew County Expo 150 attracted 40,000 visitors last week between Thursday and Sunday - needless to say it was a huge success.  Organizers were hoping for 20,000 people to partake of the celebration so their efforts more than paid off.  There were so many things to do and see with events and activities for those of all ages.
EnviroBottles was proud to be a participant and encourage the folks who dropped by our booth to sign our "pledge".  I pledge not to drink bottled water where public water is available.  We have made this our mission to educate people on the hazards of using, and sometimes drinking, bottled water.
If you would like some information regarding the 12 most important reasons NOT to support the bottled water industry whenever possible email info@envirobottles.ca and we'd be glad to send it along to you.
If you would like your name added to our pledge book let us know and we'll proudly place you on the growing list!

Spring Slow To Appear!

Here we are - moving towards the end of March and we still have TOO much snow in our yard:(  Spring is slow to arrive in Eastern Ontario this year and winter is decidedly TOO long.
How is your move towards using more reusable and/or recyclable products coming?  Are you making 2011 your year to jump in with both feet to the greening of your home?  Small things add up quickly - just take a look at your blue box or your paper/cardboard box and be proud of how much waste you are keeping from going into the landfill in your area.  Everyone can recycle or compost with little effort but with big rewards.  Give it an honest try and commit to it - you'll be surprised every week when you carry your trash to the curb.
Don't forget to use those reusable water bottles and tap water - avoid bottled water whenever possible!!!

A New Year - 2011

We are well into our first week of 2011.  The biggest challenge is to get used to writing the date differently on all our cheques, invoices, etc.  It doesn't seem that long ago that Y2K was looming and now we have completed a full decade of 2K.  How was your Christmas season?  Were you able to implement any environmentally friendly changes during your festivities?  Maybe use reusable gift bags, no disposable drinkware or dinnerware for your gatherings, use LED lights, when possible purchase products that have reduced packaging?  Can you imagine if we all did even some of these at Christmas the difference there would be in the landfills?  It is possible to change the world one person at a time.  Let's each of us attempt to be THAT PERSON!
Our best wishes for a healthy and prosperous, eco friendly and earth changing, 2011.

It's the little things

In life as in everything else it is the little things that count.  It is the little things that make all the difference to our lives.  When you want to take steps to become more eco-friendly, take baby steps and try to implement one thing at a time.  Do that one thing for 21 days and it will become a habit.  There are many little things that can help families go green in their daily life.  One of those things is the Wrap-N-Mat.

I have been using these in my kids lunches since last year.  My husband also uses them for work.  We use the snack pouches too.  I think I love how easy they are to use and the kids love the designs.  Three of my four kids are now in school.  Using a stainless steel water bottles for their drinks also makes an impact.  I used to give them two juice boxes per day.  I no longer buy juice boxes.  I am constantly amazed at how such a small item like the Wrap-N-Mat can make a big difference.

If you want to change and make a big difference try a little Wrap-n-mat.  You'll be surprised at how little effort goes into implementing them in your daily life.

If you have a School or organization that would love to raise funds while becoming more eco-friendly today.  Contact us today to find our more information.

    Recycle Your Batteries!

Usually at Christmas we receive gifts, or give gifts, that require batteries of some description.  It is important that when these batteries reach the end of their lives they be RECYCLED!  Did you know that most batteries are put into garbage cans and then taken to landfill sites. There are lots of types of batteries, which can contain dangerous chemicals. (Including lead, cadmium, zinc, lithium and even mercury)
When batteries begin to rot away in landfill sites these chemicals may leak into the ground which can cause soil and water pollution. This can be harmful to animals, humans and the environment.
Make 2010 the year where you recycle those dead batteries!
    HAPPY NEW YEAR

    New Year's Resolutions

Well, here we are just a few days away from the new year of 2010.  As we look to the end of this year so close, let's take the opportunity to consider how we have positively supported the earth and encouraged others to do the same!
Did you: -recycle as much as possible.
-use energy efficient appliances and lightbulbs as much as you were able to.
-keep your house a little cooler in the winter and a little warmer in the summer to reduce energy
                  consumption?
-air dry your clothes as much as possible.
-use products such as Wrap-N-Mat reusable sandwich wrappers and stainless steel water bottles
to dramatically reduce the amount of plastic you were using at lunch.
-never leave an empty room without shutting off the lights.
These are very simple, everyday actions that through time will allow you to do your part for the earth.  Simple, easy to accomplish, for all family members, including children!  TEACH THEM EARLY TO BE AWARE OF THE IMPACT THEY CAN HAVE ON THE ENVIRONMENT.

EnviroBottles wishes you a very healthy, prosperous and productive year ahead.

    Eco Friendly STAPLERS!

I have found the wildest stapler - staples up to 5 papers together without using metal staples.  It actually uses the paper itself to attach one to the other.  It is so super easy to use and really works - it's all I have been using since I got one.  It does leave a hole in your papers where the "staple" is made but if it's documents that you don't need to worry about that little hole, then use it and enjoy.  Keep those metal staples out of the landfills and where ever else they end up!  Check out the link - they're only $9.95 for 2!

    Merry Christmas from EnviroBottles

Greenhouse gas emissions from Alberta oilsands higher than some countries:report

    The Canadian Press
Greenhouse gas emissions from Alberta oil sands higher than some countries:report

    Sun Sep 13, 11:09 AM

By Mary Jo Laforest, The Canadian Press

Alberta's oil sands produce more greenhouse gas emissions than some European countries right now and will produce more than all of the world's volcanoes in just 11 years if the pace of development continues, says a new report.

"Dirty - How the tar sands are fuelling global climate change" is set to be released Monday.

Greenpeace commissioned author Andrew Nikiforuk, a business and environmental reporter, to write the report.

"Nobody in Canada wants to talk about the scale issues," he said in an interview Saturday.

"The emissions are bigger than Estonia and Lithuania right now and in 2020 will be larger than countries like Belgium, Austria, Ireland and Denmark."

The report documents the "real" cost of the oilsands, which Nikiforuk says is the world's largest energy project.

"The major energy projects in the Middle East ... they don't come anywhere near - none of them approach the scale and capital intensity of the oilsands."

The report says almost $200 billion has been or will be invested in the projects in northern Alberta, and that includes not only the oilsands, but pipelines, refinery expansions and other associated infrastructure.

It adds that the liabilities are a nearly threefold increase in greenhouse gas emissions, enormous amounts of natural gas used and wasted to produce synthetic oil from bitumen - which consists of tarry pitch, or asphalt - and the "economic nightmare" of carbon capture and storage, a technology that has yet to be developed.

On Friday, the premiers of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan inked a deal pledging to work together on carbon capture and storage technology. In June, the Alberta government announced it was giving $2 billion to seven companies to fund three pilot projects.

But Nikiforuk points out that there is no commercial carbon capture and storage facility operating yet anywhere in the world.

The technology is being designed mainly for the coal-fired electricity plants operating in Alberta to fuel the energy-hungry oilsands and associated projects.

This is how it's envisioned to work: Carbon dioxide is captured from smokestacks and the gas is compressed and transported to be stored underground. The waste must be monitored for an undetermined amount of time, possibly for thousands of years, at an uncalculated cost to ensure that no leaks occur, says the report.

"Most governments are not good at monitoring things for five years, let alone a thousand years," Nikiforuk says.

He also says the money to pay for carbon capture and storage will come out of Canadian taxpayers' wallets.

"The estimate from the Carbon Capture Council in Alberta is that we're going to need $2 billion to $3 billion a year for the next 20 years. That's extraordinary, that's taxpayers' money ... Any fiscal conservative in the country should look at this and just be absolutely alarmed."

Nikiforuk compares it to the fledgling nuclear power industry nearly 50 years ago.

"It was going to be too cheap to meter, then it became too expensive to build and I think carbon capture and storage will probably leave the same kind of legacy."

Nikiforuk says Prime Minister Stephen Harper and former U.S. president George Bush are a lot alike.

"Both men share a real dissidence and skepticism of climate change, which is a real convenient ideology if you want to accelerate hydrocarbon production."

"The stuff cannot be produced economically and in great quantities to ease a global oil crunch," Nikiforuk says. "For most of the world, bitumen will not be an affordable substitute for cheap light oil and we've already seen the first economic correction in 2008 - the whole global economy tanked when oil hit $150 a barrel."

"How many times will we have to go through that to learn that lesson?"

    More Information about Bottled Water!

Bottlers have created a $100- billion-a-year industry out of something that is available virtually free from the tap.

The Earth Policy Institute estimates that bottled water can cost up to 10,000 times more than municipal tap water.

And while we rant and rave if gas prices go above the $1-per-litre mark, most of us routinely pay twice that amount for half as much water.

At the same time, the UN reports that 1.1 billion people don't have access to any safe drinking water, causing an estimated 1.6 million deaths annually.

The UN's Millennium Development Goal of halving the number of people without clean water by 2015 has a price tag of $15 billion -- or about one-seventh of what we currently spend on bottled water every year.

Most water bottles are made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a plastic made from crude oil. According to Emily Arnold, a researcher with the Earth Policy Institute, this translates into 1.5 million barrels of oil annually in the U.S. alone, or enough to fuel 100,000 cars for a year.

On a global scale, we use 2.7 million tons of plastic just to bottle water, very little of which is ever re-captured through recycling programs.

The remaining bottles are tossed into our landfills, where they can take up to 1,000 years to break down.

    ---

    ENVIRONMENTAL COSTS

Tap water is delivered efficiently without packaging.

Shipping bottled water consumes large amounts of fossil fuels.

2.7 million tons of plastic are used annually to bottle water.

It takes three litres of water to manufacture a one-litre plastic water bottle.

Bottled water production is as much as 2000 times more energy intensive than tap water.

The vast majority of plastic water bottles are not recycled.

It can take up to 1,000 years for plastic bottles to breakdown.

    HEALTH COSTS

In Canada, local water supplies are inspected every day.

Bottled-water plants are inspected at three-year intervals.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued 29 recall notices for bottled water between 2000 and 2008.

The current mandatory labeling of bottled water products does not sufficiently address a number of health concerns related to content, storage and expiry dates

Antimony, a chemical used to make PET bottles has been found to leach into the drinking water.

The death of 1.6 million people could be prevented if they had access to safe drinking water and sanitation.

    ECONOMIC COSTS

Bottled water can cost up to 10,000 times more than municipal tap water.

Bottled water sales top $100 billion annually, making water the world's fastest-growing beverage industry.

    ---

What the World Health Organization has to say

    Bottled water is not sterile.

There is no scientific information on the benefits or hazards of consuming natural mineral waters.

There is no international standard for bottled water.

Because bottled water is stored for longer periods and at higher temperatures than tap water, some otherwise unharmful micro-organisms may grow to higher levels in bottled water.

Canada's share of the bottled water industry is estimated at $731 million.

IT'S TIME TO SHELVE BOTTLED WATER, by Liberal Senator Grant Mitchell, May 5, 2009

It's Time to Shelve Bottled Water
    Posted in Water
On Tuesday May 5, Canadian Senator, Grant Mitchell (Liberal) launched an inquiry into the provision of bottled water in Federal Facilities. To launch the inquiry he delivered the following 15 minute speech on the subject:

Honourable senators, I rise to draw the attention of honourable senators to an environmental initiative that would be relatively easy to implement and would save the federal government a significant amount of money, thereby saving taxpayers a significant amount of money.

While not having immense impact environmentally, although it will have significant impact environmentally, it will allow the federal government, in addition to capturing that environmental impact, to provide leadership to Canadians by demonstrating that there are many things that each of us can do that do not substantially and significantly change our lifestyles, as it is said all too often. In fact, we can encourage Canadians to take lesser steps that can accumulate to significant impacts in total on environmental, and particularly climate change, policy and problems in our country.

The government has not demonstrated profound leadership on the environmental issue. In fact, the government has demonstrated that its seem without focus. It seems without drive. It is as though ideas and objectives are announced only to spin some kind of sense amongst Canadians that this government does care and is prepared to do something. The government has had had three ministers of the environment in three years. That turnover clearly would break up any kind of direct, sustained leadership that any one of them might have been able to provide but clearly has been unable to provide. The government has had at least three, and it now looks like four, different stages, if I can put it that way, of environmental announcements. I want to say environmental policy, but that truly has not been the case, although they did cancel all the former Liberal government's climate change initiatives, which probably is their only concrete policy.

The government did bring to Parliament a clean air act, but it was inadequate in its establishment of targets for 2050, targets that were in no way based upon the real science that drives real conclusions about what needs to be done with respect to reducing carbon emissions in Canada and in the world. The government then tried to establish a greater presence in the climate change policy area by announcing its "turning a corner", but over the year since that was announced, the government seems to have done absolutely nothing except establish, although not clearly or rigorously, targets for 2020. Those targets are based on reductions of 2006 levels of emissions, targets which, once again, bear no relationship to the science and to the demands of science for determining what reductions and emissions are necessary under that scientific regime.

Most recently, the government has announced a cap-and-trade initiative for establishing caps on coal-fired electrical plants in Canada. It seems odd that the government would announce only for one particular industry when many industries need to be brought under this umbrella. Given the government's track record, I think most Canadians have little confidence that anything concrete will be done and that this cap-and-trade announcement is only another announcement in an effort to dispel this idea or conclusion that the Conservative federal government wants not at all to do something about climate change.

The initiative I raise in my inquiry concerns water in plastic bottles. This environmental initiative may seem relatively small. I want to see water in plastic bottles no longer used anywhere in Canada except in some places where clearly there is not potable water. I will exclude, for the purposes of this discussion, military operations around the world, particularly, for example, in Afghanistan, where bottled water is left everywhere for military personnel so that the problem of dehydration can be less significant.

The general usage of bottled water creates significant, and some might say profound, environmental problems. Let me give honourable senators statistics on the environmental impact of plastic bottles that hold water for Canadians' use.

One billion bottles of water are consumed by Canadians every year. It takes three litres of water for the production of a single plastic bottle, which contains an average of one litre of water.

The life cycle of the energy involved in creating these bottles is startling. The energy required, the amount of oil to create every bottle is equal to one third of the volume of that bottle. This energy use is exacerbated by the fact that the water is not delivered by pipes that are already in the ground and do not require a great deal of energy to deliver but water delivered by trucks, which exacerbate the amount of carbon emissions.

When we add it all up, the production of the one billion plastic bottles from which the water is consumed by Canadians requires 1.5 million barrels of oil per year. That amount is about the production from the oil sands of one day — one three hundred and sixty-fifth of the production of Canada's oil sands. If we look at it another way, 1.5 million barrels of oil is the equivalent of one-half of one day of all the oil used in that single day in all of Canada. The annual usage of energy to produce bottles is equal to one half of the oil that is used in a single day in Canada. The energy use is not insignificant.

It is compelling that when we look at our Kyoto objective of reducing Canadian carbon footprint emissions by 250 million tonnes of carbon a year, the production of plastic bottles amounts to 5 per cent of that Kyoto objective. Finding 20 other initiatives like this one would have allowed us to achieve our Kyoto objectives. Think about that, honourable senators. Naysayers think that achieving significant climate change objectives such as Kyoto is impossible and will ruin an economy. No, it is not. The challenge is to lead Canadians to the kinds of creativity, commitment and drive with which they have accomplished so much in the past and with which they can accomplish easily, readily, and far more quickly than people imagine, significant climate change carbon reductions.

There are those who will say that recycling mitigates a good deal of the impact on energy and on the environment of these plastic bottles. It is not so. Between 40 per cent and 80 per cent — and it is difficult to specify — of the bottles produced and used are not recycled. That percentage amounts to about 800 million of these bottles a year — because people consume the water from a billion of them — going to landfills. I do not know too many places in Canada that have enough landfill room, and it would not be wise for us to want more landfill. In particular, use of plastic water bottles underlines again the waste of energy.

Even if we could recycle all these bottles, the production of bottles is 2,000 times more energy intensive than tap water. Tap water in Canada is some of the best and healthiest water on the face of the earth. There is absolutely no reason to replace tap water with bottled water from any number of parameters, including environmental, oil, energy, recycling and health.

On the issue of health, people somehow think that bottled water is healthier. It is not commonly known that municipal water can be tested as many as 13,000 times per day. There is a continual testing of municipal water.

On the other hand, bottled water is often not tested frequently at all and companies are required only to follow voluntary testing regimes. Since 2008, only 6 per cent of all bottled water plants have been inspected by federal regulators.

If we want safe water, we should be drinking tap water to be absolutely assured of safety. Clearly, there are exceptions, such as the case of Walkerton. Generally speaking, the water in Canada is exceptionally safe and is not diminished in its comparison to bottled water. In fact, if we want certainty, we should not be drinking bottled water.

Honourable senators, action is being taken by some enlightened governments in this country. Forty municipalities across Canada have implemented restrictions on bottled water already. The Federation of Canadian Municipalities passed a resolution urging their 1,775 members to phase out the sale and purchase of bottled water.

Interestingly, the University of Winnipeg — and we have colleagues here from Manitoba — became the first Canadian university to ban the sale and provision of bottled water on their campus.

The first significant advantage of doing away with bottled water is energy and environmental consequence. Second, we have leadership from important institutions in our country that are already moving to eliminate bottled water.

After one considers the environmental advantage, what does that mean for federal government expenditure advantage? That is an interesting question. The same federal government that wants to take $80,000 of operating grants away from the Churchill Northern Studies Centre has spent $15 million over the last five years in federal government departments. Approximately $2.6 million of that money has been spent by the Department of National Defence. The figures do not distinguish whether that money was spent on bottled water for the military in Afghanistan. I recognize that bottled water must be used in Afghanistan. Given that it is not that much money compared to the amount of water I saw people drinking, I expect it is probably in addition. However, even if that bottled water for Afghanistan is included in the $15 million, if it is subtracted, we still have this hard-nosed, "cut, cut, cut" government spending $12.4 million over five years on absolutely unnecessary bottled water.

One might think there would be some sensitivity within the Department of the Environment about using bottled water given its impact on the environment. It is interesting to note the irony that over the last five years they have spent between $110,000 and $150,000 annually on bottled water. The total is getting near $600,000 to $650,000.

Think how many research stations at $80,000 per year that would fund? Do the math. If we had to set priorities, would we rather have research or bottled water that simply is not necessary?

I point out that the Prime Minister's own department, the Privy Council Office, spends over $30,000 annually on bottled water contracts.

I will get right to the point.

Honourable senators might wonder how this money adds up to such a large figure. It is because a litre of bottled water costs more than a litre of gas. It is hard to believe.

This inquiry calls upon the federal government to do something for the environment that is so fundamentally dead-easy that I cannot believe and do not want to assume that this government would not jump up and do it. This government could tell taxpayers that it will save them at least $12.4 million a year and significantly reduce pollution, the carbon footprint of this country and the pressures currently on waste disposal sites around the country.

First, we are asking that further examination be given to the federal government's own recently released figures to determine whether the locations where bottled water was provided by federal agencies and departments are also served by potable tap water. I expect that about 99.999 per cent of them will be.

Second, we would specifically like to see that parliamentary precinct procurement policies also phase out the provision of bottled water where potable tap water is available and appropriate. I am not certain that there would be any place in Parliament where it is not available and appropriate.

Third, we should increase access to tap water and public drinking fountains wherever there is insufficient access on federal government property.

I urge honourable senators to consider this inquiry.

AUSTRALIA IS NOW THE WORLD'S WORST POLLUTER!!!!

Australia overtakes US as biggest polluter!

SYDNEY (AFP) - Australians have overtaken Americans as the world's biggest individual producers of carbon dioxide, which is blamed for global warming, a risk consultancy says.

British firm Maplecroft placed Australia's per capita output at 20.58 tons a year, some four percent higher than the United States and top of a list of 185 countries.

Canada, the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia rounded out the top five. China remains the world's biggest overall greenhouse gas polluter, followed by the United States.

Maplecroft added that China and India's per person carbon production came in at just 4.5 and 1.16 tons respectively, in sharp contrast to their big overall figures.

"Australia has about five times the per capita emissions of China for instance but China produces over 20 times the carbon emissions of Australia because China has such a huge population," University of Adelaide professor Barry Brook told public broadcaster ABC.

"So you can play around with these numbers all you want but ultimately what matters is the total global carbon budget," he said.

"And unless humanity as a whole can find solutions to that problem, then all of that petty bickering amongst nations about who's more or less responsible isn't really going to be very helpful."

The report was released ahead of a major UN summit in Copenhagen in December aiming to thrash out a new climate change treaty.

Australia, whose vast size and isolation make for high transport costs for goods and people, has committed to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by up to 25 percent by 2020 compared to 2000 levels.

However, emissions trading legislation was defeated in the Senate last month, leaving the target in doubt.

University of Winnipeg - Kudos to you!

The sale of bottled water has been phased out this Fall 2009 semester and funding will be put towards upgrading water infrastructure on campus. Water fountains will also be installed and located in prominent areas in three new facilities. The University of Winnipeg Students’ Association (UWSA) also recently voted to end the purchase and provision of bottled water at student-led events and meetings, and in a recent student initiated referendum, three-quarters of students voted to eliminate the sale of bottled water on campus with the highest voter turnout in years.
    Canadian Bottled Water Statistics:
-21 Universities and Colleges have established over 50 bottled water free zones
-30 municipalities from 7 provinces have taken action on bottled water
-The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) recently urged their members to “phase out the purchase and sale of bottled water” in municipal facilities.

EnviroBottles and Confusion between other bottles

It seem lately we have had quite a few calls on defect bottles and lids. The funny thing is they are not for our EnviroBottle. There is a company in the state called "new wave enviro". We hope this will not impact the EnviroBottle sales as it is not our product these people are having problems with!

We stand by our products for defects and any issue our customers might have.

We hope if anyone has bought products that they are not satified with from other companies they with try the high quality EnviroBottle as a replacement.

New Links on the EnviroBottles Blog

Checkout some of the links on the right hand side. The numbers vary depending on where the info is coming from but cost and impact of bottled water is very hard to deny or justify.

I realy like the Sierra Club pdf. It has a picture of a bottle of water that is 1/3 filled with oil due to the amount of oil from ground to your mouth it take to get water in a bottle.

This is one of the biggest advertising promo's beverage companies have suceeded in. They took the hit with sugar being not good in large quantities so they promoted bottled water. The impact on the general population has made people feel that if it comes in a plastic bottle it is better than the tap. Apparently it is not cool anymore to drink from a fountain or cup.

Please let me know what you think of the links and give me some more to post up!

    Thanks

The goal of our fundraising program is to help your club, organization, school, etc. raise money successfully and responsibly. Our products are all considered to have a positive impact on both your kind supporters and on our environment.

Our flagship item, our , are all made from 18/8, #304 foodgrade stainless steel. They have no toxins to leach into the water/liquid that is stored inside the bottle. The plastic tops that accompany them are all made from non-toxic #5 polypropylene. Although these waterbottles can be washed on the top rack of the dishwasher, it is suggested that they be washed out with soap and water instead. (Tops should only be hand washed). The bottles come in sizes from sippy cup (250mL) to 1 litre – something for everyone!

The is a must for those places that use aluminum pop, beer, juice, etc. cans. With no effort they crush a can to about 3 cms. (1.5”) in height. Dramatically reduces the size of your recycling, and contributes positively further down the disposal chain as the volume of cans is diminished at disposal sites.

can be used in every household or business and by every age group. Their use reduces energy consumption by 75% per light bulb, translating into money saved on hydro bills. Because they last approximately 7 years they also reduce the number of lightbulbs in the landfill. Did you know for every cfl used instead of an incandescent bulb, a half-ton of CO2 is kept out of the atmosphere over the life of the bulb? With this information, your group will be able to track how much CO2 has been saved from entering the atmosphere by THEIR sales of these lightbulbs.

is a simple but very effective item to use for fundraising as well. They are economically priced, come in attractive prints and, most of all, reduce the amount of garbage left over at lunchtime. Environmentally friendly!

hand made in eastern Ontario, are pleasing to the senses and to the environment. No paraffin or petroleum products in these clean burning candles. A wide array of scents, colours and even unscented candles. A pleasure for your supporters to buy and enjoy!
